On the way to Lake Placid, we stopped in Lowville to see the windmills that have been erected over the past couple years. More are being built every day, and they now number in the hundreds. It is an impressive sight, and very quiet, even with them all moving at the same time.
They can be seen off of Route 177 between routes 12 and 26 , just west of Lowville, NY. For more information, see
