San Diego Day 3

Today was another great weather day – warm and sunny, didn’t see a cloud in the sky till later on around dinner time.

Mark and I started the day with one on one sessions with the Firehouse Software programmers. We both had questions on various system bugs as well as report issues with our systems. We then had classes on such topics as Customizing Reports, Beta Testing Software, and then a Roundtable Discussion where some other users showed us some creative ways that they have used the software. Mark and I both signed up for the Beta Testing. We will be helping work out the bugs on future software for ACS. In exchange for our work we may get discounted rates to future conferences. That would be an awesome benefit as it would enable us to further justify to our departments future trips.

Meanwhile, the girls spent the day on a Trolley Tour of San Diego. Shelly wasn’t feeling well, so the girls only got off at the Seaport Area. You can actually get off/on at any point, but they just rode the rest of the trip. Cathy got a lot of interesting information about the area that she shared with us later that evening.

Tonight, Shelly opted to stay at the hotel and rest while the rest of us went to Coronado for dinner. We passed the Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum, as well as 2 other Carriers (one was the Ronald Reagan, the other was the Nimitz). We had dinner at the beach at the Bayside Café. Very good surf and turf. After dinner, I took some night skyline pics before catching the ferry back to the mainland.

Hope everyone is doing well at home – we really miss the boys!!!
