Yesterday started out early – 3am to be exact. We picked up Mark and Shelly at their house and were off to Akron and the airport. We flew via Frontier Airlines and all flights were on time and went well. Cathy watched Home and Garden TV on the 2nd leg which helped the time go by for her.
We got into San Diego at 11am (Pacific) and after getting our luggage, were off to the hotel. The convention is at the same place and it is quite large. We were able to check in early and got a room right next to Mark and Shelly. The rooms are small but nice. The weather here is a constant 75 in the daytime with a nice ocean breeze. We unpacked and had lunch at one of the restaurants at the hotel. Cathy and I both had fried chicken and salad, very good. Mark and I signed in to the seminar, then we were off for some sightseeing.
We started out by going to the outdoor mall that is behind the hotel. Mainly, we were in search of a Wal-Mart or Target, but no luck with either one without a car. There was a lot of upscale stores at the mall, and we stopped in a few.
After the mall we went by trolley into the city. We walked down by the ocean and were able to see many aircraft carriers and other ships from the docks. Then we went up to the Little Italy area and caught another trolley back to the hotel. I went to bed at 9pm and slept quite soundly till 3am, but was not fully awake till shortly after 5.
