Bustin' Rock

Papa and Grandma scouted out an activity for the boys a couple of months ago, and today we went out to Herkimer to try our luck mining for diamonds. When we got there, I figured the boys would be over this activity in less than an hour, but...2 1/2 hours later, we had to bribe the boys with lunch and a bucket of extra rocks to break open later in order to get them to consider leaving.

We found many fossils and lots of quartz over the course of the day.
