Over the past couple months our church has been watching a local school building that has not been in use by the school district. We discussed options such as renting, leasing, or buying the facility from them as well. A few weeks ago, the building was published for an auction that occurred yesterday afternoon.
After a lot of prayer and meetings with our board, the bank, and our congregation, we put forward a plan to bid on and purchase the building. There were 2 other interested parties at the auction and we came out with the winning bid.
Last night was the monthly youth group meeting and we decided to have a game night in the gymnasium at the school. The kids played basketball for hours, while the adults looked at the renovation work we have ahead. We hope to have our first service there sometime mid-summer.
