Project #2 of 4, Power for the Power Outages

Today, with the help of one of my co-workers at IFD, we were able to wire up the backup generator for the house to the main electric system.

The generator is a Yamaha 12HP Powermate, capable of 8500 Peak Watts/6750 running Watts at 30 Amps max.  This will enable us to be able to power the whole house, minus the A/C.  It will come in handy next time we go without power over a long time span (several days is typical for our area).

It will be nice to have basic heat in winter (we do have use of the furnace, just not A/C), water, sump pump use, etc.

I should have the remaining projects done in a few weeks (floor in kitchen, upstairs bath), so stay tuned!!!
